FAQ
What is HHTGI?
The Hip Hop Therapy Global Institute (HHTGI) is a social venture that aims to scale Hip Hop Therapy by weaving a global community of change leaders. HHTGI seeks to build capacity, develop infrastructure and increase public support for HHT.
Why should I join the network?
Hip Hop Therapy has become an emerging field of study and practice. In order to grow the field, we must first identify who is doing the work, what they are doing and where they doing it. Through our network, HHTGI hopes to foster a community practice and make it easier for people to connect with each other.
Does it cost money to join the network?
There is no cost to join our network.
How do I connect with others in the network?
Simply reach out to them directly. This is why we ask for contact information and make this information public.
I do not see my organization or program represented on this network map?
HHTGI has created a separate directory for programs and organizations. Make sure you register your programs so others in the network know it exists.
What does the network only include individuals and not groups?
We recognize that individuals can move in and out of a program or an organization, but remain active in our community of practice. HHTGI believes it is important to recognize the contributions of both individuals and groups.
How do I update my information on the network map?
Please email your change of information request to info@hiphoptherapy.org
What is collective impact?
Hip Hop Therapy was created because existing mental health systems and frameworks were failing to meaningfully engage youth. Transforming those systems requires large-scale change driven by collaboration and cross-sector coordination. Collective Impact offers a framework for achieving systems change. This framework includes the creation of; (1) a common agenda, (2) shared measurement systems, (3) mutually reinforcing activities, (4) continuous communication, and (5) backbone support organizations (e.g., Hip Hop Therapy Global Institute).
